Waikoloa Beach Resort is a Hawaii County CDP on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii Island, centered on a 1,350-acre master-planned resort near Anaehoomalu Bay. The place is laid out as a large visitor and residential district, with hotels, condominiums, shopping areas, golf courses, trails, cultural venues, and ocean activities all tied to the same resort map. Hawaii Route 19 and the Kohala Coast corridor connect it to Kona, Waimea, and other island communities.

Waikoloa has an older story under the resort landscape. The coast was a gathering place for hundreds of years, and remnants of a village and fishponds near Anaehoomalu Bay date to before Captain James Cook's 1778 arrival. Resort development later organized the area around hospitality, recreation, and housing while preserving trail corridors and cultural features. Today the district runs on visitor stays, resort work, shopping, golf, water sports, music, dance, family activities, and nearby farms. Waikoloa feels polished at first glance, yet the fishponds, lava fields, and old paths keep the Kohala Coast's deeper sense of place close to the surface.
