Waimanalo, HI

Waimanalo is a windward Oahu community in the Ko'olaupoko district, east of Honolulu and close to Waimanalo Beach. The setting is the headline: a long sandy shoreline, the Ko'olau Range behind it, and a quieter, more rural feel than much of urban Oahu. Public schools are operated by the Hawaii Department of Education, and the area has Hawaiian homestead, agricultural, and beach-community layers. Waimanalo feels open and local, with ocean, mountains, and everyday island life all close together.
