Walden, NY

Walden is the largest of three villages in the town of Montgomery, Orange County, New York, situated along the Wallkill River. The community of approximately 6,868 began in the early eighteenth century as a mill town known as Kidd's Town, before entrepreneur Jacob Treadwell Walden began developing manufacturing facilities along the river in 1813. Public education is administered by the Valley Central School District.
