Waldoboro, ME

Waldoboro is a Lincoln County census-designated place and the central village of the larger town, with 1,300 residents in the 2020 census. The Medomak River runs through it, and the old village grew at the head of navigation where river travel, mills, farms, and coastal trade met. Main Street, US 1, and Maine 32 pull together the local road map, while the river cuts the village into a north-and-south rhythm. The river remains the town’s most useful orientation line, especially when the road signs get confusing.
