Walpole, NH

Walpole is a Cheshire County town on the Connecticut River, with the water forming its western edge and the Vermont line beyond it. It began as one of the river fort towns in the 1730s, and the first bridge across the Connecticut was built here in 1785. The town now includes the central village, North Walpole, and Drewsville, with Routes 12 and 123 tying the pieces together. Walpole feels like an old river crossing that grew into a New England town without losing the crossing.
