Wanette, OK

Wanette is a quiet rural town in southern Pottawatomie County, located about 30 miles south of Shawnee and roughly an hour from the Oklahoma City metro area. If you are looking for wide-open spaces, starry night skies, and a slower pace of life, the town offers plenty of country charm. Settled in the late 1800s as a railroad stop, it still maintains a peaceful, spread-out atmosphere surrounded by rolling farmland.
