About Warren
Warren is Marshall County’s seat in northwestern Minnesota, laid out in 1879 beside the rail and farm country of the Red River Valley. The Soo Line branch that passes through town helped give Warren its regional role, while the Snake River cuts through the city and has made flood control part of the local story. The Marshall County Historical Society’s Settler’s Square preserves 1880s buildings, the Soo Line Depot, a church, school, cabin, and other pieces of the area’s early landscape. Agriculture and grain handling remain central to the town’s history, but the best quick read is the way rail, river, county government, and farm country meet in one compact place.
