Warrior is a city in northern Jefferson and Blount counties, Alabama, functioning as a northern suburb of Birmingham. Incorporated in 1889, the town derives its name from the nearby Black Warrior River. The community hosts the annual Warrior Day festival each autumn and lies just seven miles south of Rickwood Caverns State Park. Local students attend Warrior Elementary School and Mortimer Jordan High School in the neighboring town of Kimberly.
