About Wartburg

Wartburg is the Morgan County seat, set among the Crab Orchard Mountains near the eastern edge of the Cumberland Plateau. It is also headquarters for the Obed Wild and Scenic River, Frozen Head State Park, and Lone Mountain State Forest, with Catoosa Wildlife Management Area just west. Bird Mountain rises east toward Frozen Head. Wartburg is eastern Tennessee in a county-seat-and-mountain arrangement, where the courthouse town is backed by rivers, forests, and a ridge that keeps going.
