Watchtower, NY

Watchtower is a small, quiet community in the Town of Shawangunk in southern Ulster County, home to roughly 1,700 residents. The area takes its name from the large Watchtower Farms complex on Red Mills Road, which the Jehovah's Witnesses established in the 1960s. Over the years, the property has developed into a major hub combining active farmland with printing, administrative offices, and residential buildings, shaping much of the hamlet's quiet, rural character.

Around the campus, the neighborhood is mostly open fields, scenic country roads, and views of the Shawangunk Mountains. Depending on where you live within the boundaries, kids attend either the Wallkill Central School District or Pine Bush Central School District. It is a peaceful, out-of-the-way pocket of the Hudson Valley that gives residents plenty of open space while keeping them within an easy drive of local shopping and neighboring towns.
