About Wattsville

Wattsville is an Accomack County census-designated place on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, first counted as a CDP in 2010. It sits only a few feet above sea level in a county shaped by farmland, marsh, and long shorelines on both the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic side of the peninsula. STAR Transit connects Wattsville with Onley, Oak Hall, and other Eastern Shore communities, giving the place a regional link without a separate town government. Wattsville is a low-lying Eastern Shore place whose character comes less from a formal downtown than from the flat county around it and the roads that tie its communities together.
