Waunakee, WI

Waunakee is a Dane County village on the north side of the Madison area, large enough to have a real local center but still recognizably suburban. Its growth traces back to the Chicago and Northwestern Railway line between Madison and Saint Paul. Today, the Village Center gives Waunakee a civic gathering point, and the local schools are a major part of everyday life for families drawn to this side of the metro.
