Wausaukee, WI

Wausaukee is a village in Marinette County, Wisconsin, United States. The 2020 census counted 596 residents. The village is part of the Marinette, WI–MI Micropolitan Statistical Area. Wausaukee is an Ojibwe word meaning 'distant land', or a Menominee word that means 'river among the hills'. That mix gives Wausaukee a clear local shape within Wisconsin, with older layers still visible in current places. The Wausaukee River flows through the village into the Menominee River.
