About Waverly
Waverly is a Morgan County community along the White River, in Harrison Township near the Johnson County line. Its start dates to about 1837, when a canal was built through the area, and the river has stayed central to the local map ever since. Waverly also carries the memory of major flooding in 2008, a reminder that living beside the White River brings the river into the town’s history whether you ask it to or not. Waverly is central Indiana with an old canal trace, a river beside the settlement, and Bargersville just across the county line.
