Waverly, PA

Waverly got its start around 1800, when settlers from Connecticut built the first cabins along an old Native American trail. The area really took off in the 1820s when a major turnpike came through, turning the quiet settlement into a lively stagecoach stop with an inn, a doctor's office, and local shops. Today, that historic route is Main Street, lining a charming village district filled with well-preserved 19th-century homes and ties to the Underground Railroad. It remains a peaceful community within Waverly Township, where much of the local character still comes from its rich history and close-knit neighborhood feel.
