About Webster
Webster is a south-central Massachusetts community known for textile-mill history and one very long lake name. The area was the ancestral home of the Nipmuc people for thousands of years, and the Chaubunagungamaug Reservation remains an important local presence. Later, Webster became home to early American textile mills, giving it the older industrial feel common in this part of New England. Lake Chaubunagungamaug, often called Webster Lake, is the town's most famous landmark and a major recreation draw.
