About Weedville

Weedville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Jay Township, Elk County, Pennsylvania, in the valley of Bennett Branch Sinnemahoning Creek. The 2020 census counted 565 residents. Pennsylvania Route 255 passes through the community, leading north to St. Marys and southwest to DuBois. Byrnedale borders the community to the northwest, Force to the southwest, and the creek valley carries the landscape toward the West Branch Susquehanna River.

The waterway gives Weedville a strong local shape: a narrow valley, wooded slopes, and roads following the creek between larger towns. The creek valley keeps homes, roads, and forest in one continuous view. The creek keeps the valley open. Jay Township handles the broader civic map, while Weedville’s homes and small crossroads keep their own community name. The old route, the creek, and the surrounding forest are the pieces that hold the place together. Weedville is a small Elk County settlement with a clear connection to the Susquehanna watershed and the road network of north-central Pennsylvania.
