About Weeki Wachee Gardens
Weeki Wachee Gardens is a census-designated place along the Weeki Wachee River in western Hernando County, east of the river's mouth at the Gulf of Mexico. The 2020 census counted 1,138 residents. Shoal Line Boulevard runs through the community, leading northeast toward Cortez Boulevard and south toward Hernando Beach. The spring, river, and coastal marshes make the water the first thing you notice here. Weeki Wachee Gardens is close to the famous spring attraction without being the attraction itself. The river flows 12 miles from the spring to the Gulf, and the nearby preserve and shoreline keep the area tied to old Florida's watery side.

The water sets the pace, from morning launches to evening weather along the river. Homes, boat traffic, river weather, and the short run to Hernando Beach shape the day-to-day map. Weeki Wachee Gardens is a small Nature Coast community where the address says gardens, the road says coast, and the river is never out of frame.
