Wellsville, MO

Wellsville is a city in northwestern Montgomery County, Missouri, where the 2020 census counted 998 residents, down from 1,217 in 2010. Charles Wells owned the original townsite, and the community was platted in 1856; a post office followed in 1857. Missouri Route 19 runs through town, placing Wellsville eight miles northwest of Montgomery City, the county seat, and 22 miles southeast of Mexico.
