West Carrollton is a city in Montgomery County, Ohio, situated along the Great Miami River within the Dayton metropolitan area. Originally laid out as Carrollton in 1830, the city of approximately 12,976 was later renamed to avoid postal confusion with another Ohio community of the same name. Public education is served by the West Carrollton City School District.
