About West Easton

West Easton is a Northampton County borough on the western side of the Easton area, with roots reaching back to land once held by the heirs of William Penn. In 1737, Penn’s heirs sold 500 acres to James Hamilton, who later sold it to Garrett Moor. The borough’s later story is tied to industry and the Lehigh Valley, but that early land transaction is the first local clue. Today West Easton is a compact borough beside Easton, with its history built from land deals, industrial change, and the present-day Lehigh Valley around it. The local shorthand is Penn family land, industry, and western Easton.
