West End, NY

West End is an unincorporated census-designated place in the Town of Oneonta, directly northwest of the City of Oneonta. Its setting is easy to describe but easy to miss on a broader map: town roads and homes on the city's outer edge, with the Susquehanna Valley and Catskill foothills shaping the view beyond. The Town of Oneonta has a separate West End development study area, while the city and town share school and service connections across the municipal line. West End is a small Otsego County place whose story is mostly about that line — close to Oneonta, but governed through the town around it.
