About West Hamburg

West Hamburg is a Berks County CDP in Tilden Township, along Old U.S. 22 just west of the borough of Hamburg and near Pennsylvania Route 61. The place is best known for the large Cabela’s store that gives this stretch of road an unmistakable landmark, but the map is the real clue: old highway, state route, and the Hamburg edge all meet here. West Hamburg is eastern Pennsylvania in a roadside form, the kind of place whose identity comes from the corridor running through it.
