Its early history includes a pioneer settlement at the head of Tanner Creek, once platted as Zion Town. Today the area is residential, hilly, and closely tied to Portland, Beaverton, and the Sunset Highway corridor. Parts of the community fall in Beaverton schools and parts in Portland schools, reflecting its position right along the metro edge.
