About West Lake Hills

West Lake Hills is a small city in the hills just west of Austin, near the Colorado River. Founded by Emmett Shelton and incorporated in 1953, it has become one of the Austin area's most desirable residential enclaves. West Lake Hills is the only city completely within the Eanes Independent School District, which is a major part of its draw. The place feels residential and leafy, with winding roads, hill-country views, and very quick access back into central Austin.
