West Monroe, LA

West Monroe sits right across the Ouachita River from Monroe in northeast Louisiana, forming one half of what locals call the Twin Cities. With around 13,000 residents, it offers the easygoing charm of a close-knit Southern town alongside convenient access to the broader region. The community grew out of a nineteenth-century ferry landing and cotton shipping hub, and that historic character is still easy to see along the riverfront today.

Today, downtown West Monroe is a lively hub anchored by Trenton Street, widely known as Antique Alley, which features local boutiques, classic diners, and specialty shops. Families moving to the area often look to the Ouachita Parish school system, while parks and walking trails along the water provide plenty of outdoor recreation. Because Monroe is just a short trip across the bridge, living here gives you a quiet neighborhood feel with everyday city amenities right next door.
