About West Wildwood
West Wildwood is a Cape May County borough on a small island reached by a two-lane bridge from Wildwood. It became a borough in April 1920, formed from parts of Middle Township as the Wildwoods were taking shape as a shore community. The borough's map is all edges: water, marinas, vacation and year-round homes, and the bridge to the larger Five Mile Island. West Wildwood is a South Jersey place whose name tells you where to look - west of Wildwood, but still part of the same shore story.
