Westbrook, ME

Westbrook sits along the winding Presumpscot River just six miles west of downtown Portland, offering its own distinct personality within Greater Portland. While close enough for an easy commute into the city, Westbrook maintains a true standalone downtown centered on Main Street and the river's historic falls. Alongside historic industrial sites like the Sappi mill, Westbrook has seen steady commercial growth, from the expansive Rock Row development on the eastern edge of town to independent bakeries, craft breweries, and local restaurants setting up shop along Main Street.

Getting around the region is straightforward for commuters and families. Greater Portland Metro buses connect Westbrook directly to downtown Portland, local universities, and major employers seven days a week. For drivers, a short trip down Brighton Avenue or Route 25 puts you in Portland within 15 minutes, while the Maine Turnpike is right on the city border for travel up and down the coast. Day to day, residents can take care of grocery runs, banking, and dining out right in town without having to leave Westbrook.
