Westland, MI

Sitting about twenty miles west of downtown Detroit, Westland is an established, down-to-earth suburb that originally grew out of the old Nankin Township. Mid-century auto manufacturing brought rapid residential development to the area, leading to its official incorporation in the 1960s. Today, it offers an approachable blend of quiet residential streets, convenient shopping hubs, and expansive green spaces. The Middle Rouge River winds right along the northern border of the city, bringing scenic parkland and walking trails directly to the local neighborhoods.
