Westminster, OH

Westminster is an unincorporated community in western Auglaize Township, Allen County, about 7.5 miles southeast of downtown Lima. It was platted in 1834 and kept a post office from 1837 to 1944. The upper reaches of the Auglaize River pass by the community, while State Route 117 meets State Route 196 just to the south. The 2020 census counted 406 people, placing Westminster inside the Lima metropolitan area and close to the county seat's larger network.

The place also has a current industrial hook: Rudolph Foods has operated in Westminster since 1955 and is known for pork-rind production. That gives a small road-and-river community a recognizable working presence, even as the river, two state routes, and the old post-office name keep its earlier shape visible. Rudolph Foods' operation gives the place a present-day industrial landmark alongside the river and roads of Allen County, keeping a working use visible within the small community.
