About Weston

Weston is a Wood County village about ten miles west of Bowling Green, with a name that replaced two earlier versions. Thomas Taylor platted the place as Taylortown in 1853, and New Westfield also appeared as an early variant before Weston became the name that lasted. That little naming trail is the local handle: one founder’s name, one alternate town label, then the village sign everyone kept. Weston is northwest Ohio in a compact frame—village streets, Wood County fields, and a short history of changing names.
