About Westwood CDP (Cambria County)
Westwood is a Cambria County census-designated place in the eastern part of Lower Yoder Township, on the hill above Johnstown's Conemaugh River valley. It covers about 1.3 square miles at elevations around 1,700 to 1,800 feet, roughly 500 to 600 feet above the valley floor. Johnstown borders it to the north, Brownstown to the east, and Westmont to the south. The place first appeared as a CDP before the 2020 census, giving the hilltop neighborhood a formal place boundary within the older Johnstown landscape.
Westwood's practical map is tied to the 15905 and 15906 postal areas, the 814/582 calling codes, and Lower Yoder Township roads. From the ridge, the Conemaugh valley below shows the community's height and its elevated view of Johnstown and its valley. Brownstown and Westmont complete the local ring, while the hilltop streets keep Westwood separate as a named community. Westwood is a high residential ridge above the river town, with township and borough lines meeting around it.
