About Whale Pass

Whale Pass is a remote second-class city in the Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area of Alaska. Originally established as a logging camp and recognized as North Whale Pass in 1980, the community shortened its name and has a population of 54. The local Whale Pass School serves the town's children under the administration of the Southeast Island School District.
