Wheatland, PA

Wheatland is a small, quiet community set along the banks of the Shenango River in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. Originally built up around 19th-century iron furnaces and steel mills, the neighborhood has since settled into a relaxed residential pocket with around 600 residents. The streets still carry the feel of a classic Pennsylvania mill town, featuring modest, affordable homes, mature trees, and a peaceful atmosphere along the water.

In 2024, Wheatland officially joined the neighboring City of Hermitage, which brought updated municipal services and road maintenance while keeping the neighborhood's historic identity intact. Residents still have their own Wheatland zip code, mailing address, and local post office, while neighborhood children attend schools in the Farrell Area School District. For anyone moving to the Shenango Valley, it offers a down-to-earth place to settle down with quick access to regional shopping, dining, and commuter routes.
