About White Mountain
White Mountain is a small city in the Nome Census Area, Alaska, notable as the only inland village on the Seward Peninsula. The community sits on the eastern bank of the Fish River and has a population of under two hundred residents. Historically established as an Iġaluŋmiut Inupiat village, White Mountain maintains close cultural connections with Yup'ik and other Inupiat groups. Local education is provided by the Bering Strait School District.
