Founded as a railroad town in Kossuth County, Whittemore is a quiet, close-knit community with plenty of outdoor recreation. Right in town, Noah Park offers a playground and ball diamond that keep neighborhood kids active throughout the summer. Just a couple of miles southeast, the 41-acre Siems Park provides a scenic retreat with shaded campsites, hookups, picnic shelters, and well-maintained fishing ponds.

The park also functions as a peaceful wildlife refuge, lovingly maintained through local volunteer efforts and support from the Iowa DNR.
