Wiggins, MS

Located in southern Mississippi's pine belt, Wiggins serves as the welcoming county seat of Stone County. Home to around 4,300 people, the town offers a quiet, small-town atmosphere with the added benefit of being right on Highway 49. That puts residents roughly halfway between the Gulf Coast beaches and the college town of Hattiesburg. Local spots like Flint Creek Water Park give families plenty of room for camping and boating, while the surrounding De Soto National Forest provides easy access to trails and outdoor recreation.
