About Wildwood
Wildwood is a gated community and census-designated place spread across Hardin and Tyler counties in the piney woods of southeast Texas. The development is built around Lake Kimball, so the roads, homes, and recreation areas gather around water instead of a traditional town center. The community’s private association maintains a broad set of amenities, including an 18-hole golf course, tennis, baseball and basketball facilities, a library, a landing, and outdoor spaces tied to the lake.
Lake Kimball gives residents boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming, and shoreline time, while the golf course and sports facilities shape the calendar on land. Warren and Kountze independent school districts serve students on the two-county side of the community. Nearby Village Mills, Kountze, Lumberton, and Beaumont supply groceries, work, health care, and other larger needs. Wildwood has the feel of a planned resort neighborhood, but it is also a place where people deal with school buses, property-association decisions, storm weather, lake upkeep, and ordinary household routines. The water and the gates define the map; the people living inside make it a community.
