About Williamson

Williamson is a Yavapai County census-designated place north of Prescott, better known locally as Williamson Valley after Williamson Valley Road. It covers a large rural area, more than 50 square miles, with a 2020 population a little over 6,000. The community is spread out, older, and mostly residential, with much of it tied to Prescott Unified School District. A 2009 incorporation effort failed, which fits the area's loose, rural character: recognizable, but not a town in the formal sense.
