About Williamsport
Williamsport is the county seat of Lycoming County, set along the West Branch Susquehanna River in north-central Pennsylvania. It grew wealthy during the lumber era, when river rafts and sawmills helped make the city a major timber center. Today Williamsport is best known nationally as the home of Little League Baseball and the Little League World Series, but it also has a downtown arts scene, older mansions, colleges, and regional medical and government services. It is a river city with more history than its size suggests.
