Winchester, NH

Winchester is the main census-designated community within the Town of Winchester, a Cheshire County town settled in 1733 and incorporated in 1753. The Ashuelot River and the Boston and Maine Railroad helped shape the center, while the old lumber and manufacturing history still shows up in the town's records and Main Street. The annual Pickle Festival now gives that street its most recognizable recurring date, held each September. Winchester also reaches toward Pisgah State Park, Forest Lake, and the Ashuelot Rail Trail. It is a New Hampshire village center inside a larger town map of river, rail, woods, and farm country.
