Winchester, WI

Winchester is the census-designated place within the Town of Winchester in northern Winnebago County, a distinction that matters because Wisconsin has another Winchester in Vilas County. The town was organized in 1851 after the area separated from Winneconne. Its first settlers arrived in the middle of the nineteenth century, including Norwegian families who were later joined by German settlers and households from the East Coast.
