Winnie is a census-designated place in Chambers County, Texas, situated along the Gulf and Inter-state Railway line. Founded in 1895 and named for railroad contractor Fox Winnie, the community of approximately 3,290 is famous for hosting the annual Texas Rice Festival every October and is served by the East Chambers Independent School District locally today.
