Woodcrest's county land-use plan still reserves substantial space for rural and equestrian uses, even as conventional neighborhoods and a commercial corridor share the same Census place. Riverside County directs retail toward Van Buren Boulevard and designates the Van Buren-Washington Street intersection as a future village-center focus for residential, retail, office, and public uses. That is planning policy rather than a claim that Woodcrest already has a compact downtown. The same source's 2020-2024 estimates show that 90.5 percent of occupied homes were owner-occupied and employed residents had a mean travel time to work of 39.6 minutes. Woodcrest Community Library is the clearest all-ages public facility inside the CDP. The Census address geocoder confirms its 16625 Krameria Avenue location despite the Riverside mailing address.

The 10,080-square-foot building opened in 2007 after an earlier storefront branch outgrew its space. It includes a large children's area, teen space, two study rooms, Wi-Fi inside and on the grounds, and a water-wise garden, while overhangs and a skylight are among its heat- and energy-conscious features. Its July 2026 calendar ranged from preschool storytime and children's games to makers sessions and Fit After 50 classes, and regional emergency guidance lists it as a cooling center during extreme heat. A county recreation plan also lists a five-mile Harford Springs-to-Mockingbird Canyon multipurpose trail link in design development. That trail is not yet an open amenity, a useful limit for anyone reading a future route line on a planning map.
