Woodinville, WA

Woodinville occupies historic Sammamish territory along the Sammamish River in northern King County. Ira and Susan Woodin traveled upriver from Seattle in 1871 and built a cabin there. The modern city, east of Bothell and northeast of Kirkland, had 13,069 residents in 2020. Its waterfront parks line the river, while industrial areas follow State Route 522. A wine district draws on grapes grown in Eastern Washington and includes producers such as Chateau Ste. Michelle, DeLille Cellars, and Matthews Winery; the local economy also includes light industry and retail. Gold Creek Park hosted the 1969 Seattle Pop Festival, whose performers included Led Zeppelin and The Guess Who. Annual civic programming includes Celebrate Woodinville’s summer concerts and festival and its Winterfest.
