Woodland Hills, NE

Woodland Hills is a small census-designated place in Otoe County, southeast of Lincoln and near the Palmyra side of the county. Its 0.36 square miles make it feel more like a compact residential pocket than a separate town center. The surrounding country is open and agricultural, with Waverly, Palmyra, and the county roads providing the larger map for errands, schools, and services. In 2020, the CDP counted 232 residents.

School boundaries give Woodland Hills an unusual local split. Most of the community falls in Waverly School District 145, whose Otoe County reach includes Woodland Hills, while a portion belongs to Palmyra District OR-1. That arrangement links the CDP to two nearby Nebraska communities even though the houses sit in one small geographic cluster. Woodland Hills has no incorporated town government; its character comes from the homes, the surrounding fields, and the school and county connections that organize daily routines. It is a small place whose edges make more sense once you see the roads and district lines around it.
