Woodloch, TX

Woodloch is a Montgomery County town on the West Fork of the San Jacinto River, about eight miles southeast of Conroe and 30 miles north of Houston. It began as a residential development in the wooded river country in the mid-1970s and incorporated in 1974. The town's layout remains unusually compact: North Woodloch Street and South Woodloch Street connect with Needham Road, the three roads that define its municipal map. The 2020 census counted 186 residents.

Woodloch operates as a general-law municipality, with a mayor, five aldermen, a public-works operator, and a city secretary at Town Hall on North Woodloch Street. Conroe Independent School District serves the town, linking local school routines to a district that also covers Conroe, The Woodlands, Shenandoah, and Oak Ridge North. Residents are part of the Lone Star College service area as well. Woodloch's small government and three-road street plan sit inside the wider Conroe-Houston corridor, while the San Jacinto fork and the surrounding woods remain the clearest physical markers.
