About Yoder

Yoder is a Reno County CDP on K-96 southeast of Hutchinson, shaped by the Amish settlement associated with the Yoder name and by a wartime airfield just west of town. Kansas Historical Society records place the Yoder post office in operation from 1889, while the Society's account of Naval Air Station Hutchinson locates the World War II base one mile west of Yoder. The former base site adds a military layer to the surrounding farm landscape. Yoder's present geography joins a small rural center, highway access, and an aviation corridor.
