Yonah, GA

Yonah is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in White County, north Georgia. It first appeared as a CDP in 2010; the 2020 census counted 657 residents. Georgia State Route 75 is the main line through the settlement, tying Yonah Valley Road and the surrounding mountain roads to the White County corridor. The name comes from a Cherokee word for bear, a detail that remains visible in nearby names such as Bear Ridge and Bear Mountain.
