Stanford Education Data Archive (SEDA 2025.1)

Version 2025.1; both subjects must use 2022-2025 or both must use the 2009-2019 historical fallback

Data: The exact approved all-student administrative-district math and reading/language-arts achievement scores, each based on Stanford's Empirical-Bayes Cohort Standardized estimate and adjusted standard error.
What it tells us: Summarizes average nationally comparable math and reading achievement among tested public-school students in grades 3-8. It does not show growth, causal school effectiveness, an individual child's likely outcome, or full school quality.

Data: All-student administrative-district combined math-and-reading Grade Year Standardized learning-rate estimates, using Stanford's recommended Empirical-Bayes estimate and adjusted standard error.
What it tells us: Shows average grade-to-grade progress among tested public-school cohorts in grades 3-8, where 1.0 is one 2019-national-reference grade level per grade. It is not achievement level, a calendar-time trend, or causal school effectiveness.

2022-23 four-year adjusted-cohort graduation rate

Data: Official EDFacts all-student four-year adjusted-cohort graduation rate and cohort count for the exact current secondary or unified district, used only when the disclosure and cohort pass the evidence gates.
What it tells us: Adds a modest high-school completion outcome. The direct score is blended toward a held-out calibrated academic prediction according to cohort size, privacy-interval precision, and source currentness.

NCES EDGE School Districts - Current

2024-2025 school-district boundaries

Data: School-year 2024-2025 administrative, elementary, and unified boundaries and seven-digit district identifiers already approved by both subject scores and required to match exactly.
What it tells us: Identifies the one district boundary containing the named Census place's representative point; it is not an attendance zone, exact place-boundary overlay, or guarantee of school assignment.
